about decorations and techniques

There are various techniques for painting ceramics and porcelain, and each technique has its own characteristics. Here are some of the most common techniques used in OEM.

color glaze

product example

Colored glaze is a method of applying color to an entire piece of unglazed pottery and porcelain. The glaze is the covering that is applied to the unglazed pottery and porcelian, and is the glassy part that covers the surface of them. When fired, the glazed surface is covered with glassy material, which blocks small pores and increases durability. The glaze also has a luster unique to the glassy material, and can come in a variety of colors.

transcribe underglaze with Japanese paper

A copper plate is used to copy the pattern onto Japanese paper, which is then pressed against the surface of an unglazed pottery and porcelain to copy the pattern onto the unglazed pottery. Since the pattern is applied under the glaze, it is different from overglaze transfer and has a distinctive expression.

makeup with white mud

化粧土

The technique of "make-up with white mud" was born when old potters who longed for pure white pottery recreated it by covering red clay with pure white clay. This technique was born from the desire of old potters for pure white pottery. It is used to change the color of the base or to decorate it.

pad printing

パット印刷

The pattern is copied onto a soft silicone rubber pad and pressed onto the unglazed porcelain. Because of the properties of silicon, the pad fits to the shape of the bowl, making it possible to print designs on a wide range of surfaces, including the outside and inside of deep bowls and curved plates.
